Darwin Port sponsors Darwin Sailing Club

Darwin Port has provided sponsorship to the Darwin Sailing Club to assist in the purchase of 4, Elliott 7 metre Keelboats. The boats provide platforms for teaching sailing and provide match racing opportunities with the vessels equally matched. The Darwin Sailing Club hosted an International Youth Match Racing Regatta in July 2017. Six youth teams consisting of 4 or 5 sailors, who have not reached their 23rd birthday, are invited to contest the regatta. Teams from the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, Royal Sydney Yacht Club, Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club and two Darwin Sailing Club entrants competed.

Similar events are held around the world and provide an opportunity for sailors to test their skills in equally matched yachts. Darwin Port is pleased to provide its support for in encouraging young Australians to excel.
